Marco Bertaglia is an interdisciplinary researcher in the sciences of social and environmental sustainability. He has been dealing with agroecology, ecosystem services, soil and resource sustainability for over thirty years. He graduated from the University of Turin in 1997 in forest and environmental sciences. In 2000 he obtained a Masters in Environmental Sciences and Management from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, with a paper on domestic waste water, and, in 2004, a PhD from the University of Kiel, Germany. Since April 2012 he has been working in Ispra, in the Sustainable Resources Department, Joint Research Center, European Commission. He is a trainer certified by the International Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC). Activist, spokesperson and national coordinator in Italy of the environmental movement Extinction Rebellion.
